Summary: This race should be banned
Comments: I did this race several years ago and at the time, despite being a small race, it was farily well supported. The race is now a joke and it is unsafe. The swim and bike legs are short. Support is minimal. On the bike there are several wooden bridges you have to cross multiple times, and if they are wet, they are very slick and dangerous. This paast season a racer crashed on one of the bridges and had to drop out of the race. The race oraganizer is a cheep, indifferent, dork that has no busness charging people that kind of money. Don't even think of doing this race-it is a waste of your money and time.

Summary: Don't sign up for this Triathlon
Comments: First of all, the date is wrong, this event is normally sometime in August. And the website should be: http://www.triathlons.net/fullbigfoot/index.htm But after reading this review, you will never sign up for this race, so it doesn't matter. Very poor organization, with very little race support. The website should have warned me, as it was badly maintained and didn't offer much information. The race started very late, there was poor security at the transitions, no swim-caps provided, no porta-johns out on the course, no police or anyone helping with traffic at intersections, very few directional signs, and heavy traffic on the main bicycling route, even on a Saturday morning. Aid stations were poorly stocked and did not have cola, soup, or much besides fig bars and water. No fans except for family members, and the local community didn't seem to even know that there was a race going on. The few volunteers were nice, but that doesn't make up for the lack of everything else. The swim was about 1/2 mile short, and the bike was over 8 miles short of the true Ironman distance. In short, this was a cut-rate triathlon that still cost the normal Ironman price. If this had been my first Triathlon, it would have been my last. Luckily I have seen better, and know that there are some great events out there. This wasn't one of them.

Summary: Very Poorly Organized.
Comments: Good location, poorly organized. From giving out the wrong pre-race information on the Website, to starting the race over 1/2 hour late, to having volunteers direct myself and others off course to improper distance measurements, where do I begin. For the effort required to complete an IronDistance Race, it is wated on this race.
